Goods travel by road through Spain and France, with a ferry crossing to the UK. Your coordinator confirms the collection date and a delivery window at survey stage.
What it costs
Removals from Portugal are priced by volume and service, not a flat rate. As a guide, a small part load of about 5 cubic metres starts from around £870, and a full-house load of about 30 cubic metres is upward of £3,600. The figures below are indicative. A survey gives you a fixed written price.

What changes the price: total volume, part load vs dedicated, your collection region and access, packing level, storage, and time of year (summer is busiest).
Coming home: customs and Transfer of Residence
Since the UK left the EU, goods coming from Portugal are treated as a UK import. Most people returning permanently claim Transfer of Residence (ToR) relief to bring used belongings in free of duty and VAT. Apply on gov.uk before your goods travel and you receive a unique reference number, which we pass to UK customs with your inventory.

Storage on Arrival in the UK
If your UK property is not ready when your goods arrive, or if you are downsizing and need short-term space for surplus items, we hold your belongings at our climate-controlled Knaresborough depot. Units run from 25 sq ft to 300 sq ft. Your coordinator confirms availability and pricing at survey stage.

How to Get a Quote
We start with a video survey or in-person visit. The surveyor works through your Portuguese property room by room, assesses volume, and flags any items needing special treatment – stone tops, mirrors, antiques, large garden pieces. After the survey you receive a written fixed-price quote covering collection from your Portuguese address, transport to the UK, any agreed packing, customs handling, and delivery. No hidden charges added after the job is booked.
