What Does a Spain to UK Removal Cost?
The price depends on whether your belongings fill a dedicated lorry or share space on one already heading back. Most moves from Spanish apartments and two to three-bedroom properties run as part loads, where you pay for the cubic metres your goods occupy rather than the full vehicle.
A dedicated full lorry is the right choice for larger homes where you want the vehicle to yourself and a delivery date set around your UK completion.
Because our lorry runs every week on the UK-Spain-UK route, part-load customers join a scheduled service rather than waiting for a vehicle to become available. At survey stage we give you a fixed-price written quote covering collection, transit, customs handling, and UK delivery.
Factors that affect the final figure:
- Volume (cubic metres or load metres)
- Collection point in Spain (Costa Blanca, Costa del Sol, wider Andalucia, or further inland)
- Whether you need full export-grade packing or will pack non-fragile items yourself
- Storage at either end if your UK completion date is not yet confirmed
- Any specialist crating for marble tops, mirrors, or high-value antiques
Post-Brexit Customs and Documentation
Since 2021, goods crossing from Spain into the UK are treated as imports. To bring your own possessions back without paying import duty, most returning residents apply for Transfer of Residence (ToR) relief.
The main requirements:
- You must have lived outside the UK for at least 12 months
- The items must have been owned and used for at least 6 months
- A Unique Reference Number (URN) from HMRC is needed before goods reach the UK border
- A valued inventory listing all items must accompany the shipment
- Supporting documents (rental agreements, proof of Spanish residence, or similar) are required
Our coordinators have handled ToR applications for Spain to UK moves for years. We prepare the inventory, flag what documentation you need, and submit the ToR1 application with your move. If your situation is more involved (business assets, inherited goods, or a commercial purchase), we price the customs work at survey stage.
Part Loads vs Full Loads from Spain
A part load groups your belongings with other UK-bound consignments on the same vehicle — you pay only for the space you use. It suits studios, one-bed flats, holiday homes, and single-room shipments. Typical timing is 10 to 21 days on our weekly service.
A dedicated full lorry carries only your belongings and runs door to door. It suits full 2 to 4-bed households, time-critical moves tied to completions or school dates, and mixed loads with pianos, antiques, or motorbikes that are better off without second handling. Typical transit is 5 to 7 working days.

The road distance and sea crossing mean packing standards matter more on a Spain to UK move than on a short UK domestic job. Our crews use export-grade materials on every Spain to UK shipment: double-walled boxes, bubble wrap, moving blankets, and specialist crating for fragile or high-value items.

If your UK completion date is not confirmed when your Spanish property completes, we can hold your goods in climate-controlled storage at our Knaresborough facility (25 to 300 sq ft units) until you are ready. We also hold goods at our Almoradi depot in Spain if you need to clear the Spanish property before the UK end is ready.
