The same firm that loads the lorry in Cadiz province delivers it to your front door in Yorkshire, the South West, or wherever you are heading.

Part loads and full house moves

Most Sotogrande to UK moves fall into one of two camps. Some clients are bringing back a full second home, with art, larger furniture and a vehicle. Others are downsizing, returning a portion of the contents to family in the UK while keeping the Spanish property running. We handle both.

For a full house move, we send a dedicated vehicle and a crew sized to the property. Your coordinator agrees the schedule, confirms the access notes for both ends, and books the crossing. For a part load, your belongings travel with other UK-bound consignments on our weekly run. The cost is shared across the load, which keeps the price fair without compromising on the handling or the paperwork. Either way, your inventory is logged, labelled and tracked.

If you are unsure which option fits your move, we will tell you straight after the survey. A part load is usually the right call below roughly half a household. Above that, a dedicated vehicle is faster and tidier.

Packing and protection for high-value items

Sotogrande homes tend to hold things that need careful handling. Original art, antique furniture, glassware, wine, golf collections, and the occasional piano. Our packing service uses export-grade materials, double-walled cartons, acid-free tissue, custom-built crates for marble or stone tops, and bespoke wrapping for upholstered pieces.

Permanent, trained staff do the packing. We do not bring in casual labour for high-value moves. Every piece is itemised on the inventory and photographed where the client wants a visual record. For pieces that need a hard crate, we build it on site rather than risk swapping a soft wrap for a pre-made box that almost fits.

Customs and paperwork help

Post-Brexit moves between Spain and the UK need a Transfer of Residence (ToR1) application, an inventory in the right format, and proof that you are returning to a UK address. We walk you through the documents during the survey and check your inventory against HMRC’s expected layout before the lorry leaves Spain.

We are not customs agents and we will not pretend to be. What we do is hand you a checklist, flag the items HMRC tends to ask about (alcohol over allowance, vehicles, items under twelve months of ownership), and coordinate with the broker who clears the load on the UK side. If you have already started the ToR1 process, send us the reference and we will plug it into our paperwork. If you have not, we will point you to the right form before the move date.

Storage options in the UK and Spain

Not every Sotogrande move lands cleanly. Completion dates slip, the UK property is not ready, family logistics shift. We run climate-controlled storage at our Knaresborough depot in unit sizes from 25 to 300 square feet, and storage in Spain at our Almoradi base. Your inventory can sit at either end, in either country, until you are ready for delivery.

Storage is billed monthly, with no minimum tie-in beyond the first month. The same coordinator who handled the move handles the release, so there is no second handover when you are ready to take possession.
